Aster ‘Woods Purple’ – Michaelmas Daisy ✓

  • Characteristics: Grows in mounded clumps with small semi double blue violet to purple flowers with yellow centers. Growing 12-18″ tall with dark glossy green leaves.
  • Light: Full Sun
  • Moisture: Prefers well drained soil, medium moisture, normal watering
  • Plant: Deadhead final blooms, great for beds and borders

Mums

  • Characteristics: Flower is a multi-layered ring of petals around a solid eye, colors vary, produces many flowers per plant. Blooms September through October.
  • Light: Full Sun
  • Moisture: Well drained soils, normal watering.
  • Plant: Deadhead to prolong flowering, use in beds and borders.

Ornamental Cabbage

  • Characteristics: Large rosettes of colorful and decorative ruffled or frilly leaves variegated with cream, rose pink and purples. Blooms in fall, retains its color till early spring.
  • Light: Full Sun
  • Moisture: Well drained soils, normal watering.
  • Plant: Plant in masses or individually as a border

Ornamental Kale

  • Characteristics: Thick, smooth leaves up to 2′ long. Lower leaves fold open and upper leaves are erect. Ornamental Kale comes in a few color varieties and is mostly used in the fall.
  • Light: Full Sun
  • Moisture: Well drained soils, normal watering, drought tolerant.
  • Plant: Use in pots or individually as a border

Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’ – Purple Fountain Grass

  • Characteristics: Produces clumps of purple maroon grass like blades. Spikes of rose red plumes last from summer to fall. Grows 2-4′ tall and to 3′ wide.
  • Light: Full Sun
  • Moisture: Drought tolerant, prefers normal watering
  • Plant: Use as centerpieces in pots and in beds
