The Juniperus Procumbens ‘Nana’ – Japanese Garden Juniper is an evergreen shrub which grows very low to the ground. It is a blue-green hue and takes on a purple tint during the winter months. It can be trained to grow upright and also makes a lovely addition to a group planting. This plant produces a needle-like leaf at about ¼ inch long on a 4’ to 5’ branch. This plant is often used on slopes as it creates the perfect ground cover. While going through its adjustment period to become established to the soil, it requires medium moisture, however once it has acclimated it has a high drought tolerance. One of the beautiful perks of this plant is its ability to attract birds due to the berry-like cone that it produces in the fall!
